Just a thought -- Ever notice how well British singers evoke that "soulful" sound? I've come to practically expect it from them; I'm more amazed when a white American singer has that quality. Wonder why that is?  | |

Mick Jagger, and before you laugh out loud, you should listen to 'Let It Loose' from the 'Exile On Main Street' album. Pure and undeniable soulful singing by the man. Perhaps not in the traditional sense of soul, ala Marvin Gaye and Al Green, but soulful singing never has to be just one way of sound and style, if you know what I mean. You also just have to love one of Jagger's lines in the song,
''HIDE THE SWITCH AND SHUT THE LIGHT, LET IT ALL COME DOWN TONIGHT''. Those even sound like lines that could have come from a song by Mr. Gaye if you ask me. [Edited 4/16/07 21:54pm] | |
