"Standing room only, the concerts sold out everyone's there for the party the hush turns to a shout everyone's got a piece of the pie of you and I but nobody knows when the lights dim down that the tears fall harder than the whole damn crowd" I LOVE that part It's no secret that Cassnova Brown was about Rick James. But I like the first & second verse: My baby's fine He always keeps me guessing But never keeps me guessing about his love He's had more girls than Howard Hughes had money and you may think it funny when I say he loves me only and who are you to say what he did when I was not around just because I fell in love with Casanova Brown Act 2 scene 5 is my command peformance my name is clairvoyance and it's all too clear I was the one who said tune in tomorrow I think about tomorrow, even when I am asleep and who are you to say what I did when you were'nt around just because I fell in love with you Casanova Brown

I've never notice that in so much detail, I just figured it was a note of some sort. since you brought it to attention. I had to hunt the lp and yes i see the 777-9*** the index finger is covering the rest.. great eye for detail. Like i said never really paid that any attention, other than knowing the lyrics were on the liner.

I stated this over a year ago on here and I must state this again:
1} "You So Heavy' is one of the most coldblooded songs. And from a female, this is just hardcore proof on how HARD Teena is. This woman is off the hook. I ran a thread on this very song over 2 years ago and it got NO love. Which is surprising actually. It has a great vocal performance. The music is funky. It's always reminded me of "The Beautiful Ones", musically. But it's much harder. And the very Hendrix inspired guitar solo by the late Stevie Ray Vaughn. 2) Her whole Emerald City album is not only my fave album by her but it's one of my all time fave albums by anyone. THIS is what P should have done after Purple Rain. This is the follow up to Purple Rain. This album puts P's ATWIAD to shame. She even beat P to the punch with one side of the album being the artsy, jazz inspired side similar to what P ended up doing on Parade. The whole "funk/rock" side with Bootsy's hendrix like speech on "Emerald City' to the bangin' tribute to Prince "Lips 2 Find U" and "Once Is Not Enough" and of course the great "You So Heavy". Here's a white woman paying SERIOUS tribute to all of the black rock cats; Hendrix, Bootsy and Prince. And doing it with such flair and ease. It's so natural for Teena. Teena was like "Oooh,...I love that shit. I'm going to do some of that." And did it. She even went so far as to rename one of her guitarists in her band "Bendrix". Teena's off the hook. Always have been. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I bet Rick was pissed. Teena has always been a Prince fan.Her good friend/backup singer was Jill Jones, who later became a Prince protege.I bet she wasn't allowed to bring up Prince's name around Rick, lol.

http://www.amazon.com/Eme...256&sr=1-1 I already have it, so i don`t care, but still.... Used from $45?! Thats crazy. iTunes has it for &7.98, of course no liner notes included. One of the things I like about Teena‛s discography is that even though I‛ve loved her forever, I don‛t have all of it so there‛s always something for me to go back and discover or add to my collection. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

That song right there is Teena's take on New Jack Swing. I've seen the video on YouTube about a month ago before it was removed. EDIT: BTW, I also like the 12" version of The Sugar Shack. [Edited 3/3/07 17:32pm]
