Two questions about Beck's NAUSEA video

1. I just got the deluxe edition of "The Information" and finally got to see the "official" video for "Nausea", with him walking around on a city street. My question is, was this video an homage to David Lynch's "Inland Empire"? Cuz the concept for the video and the feel of it are very similar to Lynch's movie...not to mention there was a Beck song in that movie.

and since not a lot of people may be able to answer this question, I have another one:

2. Am I the only person who thinks Beck looks disconcertingly like David Spade with his long blonde shoulder-length locks? confused

As always, be concise and support your answers with examples. You will be graded harshly. Thank you. hug

1. Walking is a nice exercise. Beck is very fond of it...

2. David Spade is ugly. Beck is not ugly

1. Dammitt, now I really have to buy the deluxe edition! mad If it's ANYTHING like the scene in inland empire with the hollwood street whores during black tambourine then i must see it drooling

2. Davis Spade needs to cut his hair. Beck just needs to wash his. I've never found spade attractive and beck was lookin pretty bangable during the midnite vultures era but lately he's just not doin it for me, so...i guess you're right! he is looking a little bit too much like spade. neutral

1. Walking around on a city street could be an homage to just about anything. I say it's either Gene Kelly in "Singin' In The Rain'" or Dan Kelly's morning walk to work.

2. No, David Spade looks like Heather Locklear, which is why they were so fond of each other.

it's TOTALLY like the hollywood street whore scene, though it's more like the scene where laura dern is gurgling blood while the asian girl is talking about all that weird monkey stuff. that scene. though not as gory. not at all gory. it just has that whole disconcerting breaking/rebuilding of the fourth wall going on, with creepy street people acting all odd.

beck's suit in this video is drool , by the way.

i think his hair is awfully pretty long, but damn. he DOES look way too much like david spade.

How did you get that? Doesn't it come out next week?

I have never seen the video for Nausea. I naturally assumed it was the homemade DVD version.

While I don't normally find Beck attractive, I do have a fantasy of coming home after a long days work and finding him naked with a guitar over his bits and he's strumming the song Jackass. nod

At least it's a slightly creative fantasy. Better that Imago has for you.

I don't know the David Lynch reference, so I can't comment there, but...

Beck and David Spade are NOTHING alike!!

Beck is A-DOR-A-BLE. Like little, lost puppy. You want to take care of him; give him soup.

Spade is DE-PLOR-A-BLE. You want to "take care of him" alright; give him soup... with traces of barbiturates. mad
