'The singer has split with his record company SonyBMG, and claims he has lost inspiration for composing music.'
I thought he lost inspiration for composing music before he released his first ever song One of those artists that I find totally unlistenable and this is great news to me. Inevitably, it'll turn out that he'll change his mind and we'll have more dirge from Jamiroquai at some point. Oh well.

WHAT!!!!!????? I love Jay's voice! Seriously, he is one of my favorite singers, and I had dreams of working with him for the past 10 years. Maybe he just needs a break. Wanna hear me sing? www.ChampagneHoneybee.com

There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

A story in Wednesdays Mirror newspaper (UK) reported that Jay is planning to quit music. I'll leave you to read the report from the Mirror newspaper website but in a follow up news item exclusively posted at the official Jamiroquai website at Jamiroquai.com, the following story was printed:
And now, time for the truth | 28.02.2007 OK, so there is a story in today’s Mirror implying Jay is quitting the music business: Needless to say they’ve got it completely wrong! You see, in a quick chat with one of the paper’s journalists following his record breaking Gig in the Sky yesterday, Jay mentioned he was taking time out to update his home studio and take some time off before the band go back in to start writing a new album later in the year. He also talked about working on new arrangements of songs so next time they go out on tour they have fresh take on the tracks they play live perhaps incorporating strings or horns. Perhaps they should listen next time! When they gonna learn? On seeing the way his chat was reported today in the Mirror Jay said “As usual they got it wrong for a cheap headline! All I said was that we’re taking a bit of time out to get the studio refurbished and we’ll be back making music in a few months time. There’s no way I’m quitting the music business - now I am out of my long contract with SonyBMG we have so many options open to us we’re just going to take our time and get it right - its just getting interesting!” We always know not to believe everything that's in the newspapers. Quite clearly (from hearing it with my own ears), Jay said yesterday (Tuesday) that wants to continue making music and only plans to go back on tour when the band have had time to rebuild the entire set to make it different once again. Speaking of which, until we get to hear official recordings, the band have done some absolutely fantastic work to High Times - which I think sounds amazing. No doubt there will be many recordings of this and other songs on YouTube real soon... http://funkin.com/news/?id=3540 [Edited 2/28/07 13:48pm]

I sorta stopped listening after Synchronized. I thought that one and Travelling w/out moving strayed from the music that made them stick out. Were the last 2 any good? Or more of the same disco funk? Christian Zombie Vampires

I lost interest after Zender left, and I'd followed Jamiroquoi since his first releases on Acid Jazz. There was nothing fresh sounding anymore. He'd gotten stagnant - thought the last album was bloody awful. That said, they were always good live.
To me, it sounds like he's gone and done a George Michael - far more interested in smoking weed than making music. Meh

I kinda lost interest as well, after TWM. Funk Odyssey was decent, and besides "Seven Days In Sunny June," Dynamite was ordinary at best. ROTSC and TWM, man, I spun those forever and a day. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

His last album wasn't his best,it was his first album I didn't buy when it came out, waited untill it was in the Nice price section. IMO the first single wasn't the right choice. After listening 2 the album again,I must say there still are a few great songs on it, 7 days in sunny june,Electric mistress,Give hate a chance. Love4oneanother
