I watch it on WGN also. I recently found our local channel that plays it. They had moved it back to Saturday nights at 12:30 a.m. In the 1990s, they kept moving the show over to every local channel we have at all hours of the night until it ended up on Sunday nights.....you know a show is in trouble then. lol

I was curious and turned to our local channel last Saturday night, and they didn't air it all. They had some damn infomercial on. lol

My local channel did the same thing. I stumbled upon it after flipping channels one night.

I think that it would be absolutely brilliant for Don Cornelius to release these old episodes on DVD, But I don't know if he owns all of the episodes outright or if he shares ownership with Tribune, Inc. (the owners of WGN, WPIX, KTLA, the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, and the Chicago Cubs). I wonder if there's some kind of dispute between DC and Tribune regarding royalties; and don't forget that the record companies are probably involved in this as well. I remember that it took five years for old episodes of "WKRP In Cincinnati" to be released on DVD because the record companies demanded huge royalties for the songs which were played on each episode. I wonder if this is one of the reasons why this show is not on DVD yet.

I heard from some people that they change and substitude some of the songs for cheaper songs due to the hefty price that the record companies were asking for on WKRP In Cincinnati. That also why the Wonder Years and New York Undercover which shows used a lot of music won't see its day on DVD due to the high price music fees.

I recorded almost every episode of WKRP on VCR tapes back when it was being re-run in the early 2000s on the TNN Network. I'm getting ready to re-record them onto DVDs but the damn VCR tapes were recorded with a mono VCR and not a stereo one.

I would love to buy the DVDs but I want the original music that was in the episodes.....like Venus throwingdown with "Make Up Your Mind" by Aurra and "Nobody Knows" by Ashford and Simpson. Replacing the original music with generic music is rediculous because the show is about a radio station in the late 70s and early 80s. Generic songs would ruin the mood.

lol It's too late,I already bought a set of 10 VHS Soul Train tapes years ago.

If they don't want fans buying bootlegs, they need to release it themselves!! (Hmmm...sound familiar?? lol).I would be first in line to pay for a multi-DVD set of all the 70s episodes.I can't see why they don't do this.Episodes of 'The Midnight Special' are now on DVD.

Until they wise up and release this stuff themselves,I will enjoy my bootlegs and continue to look elsewhere for episodes that I don't have. It's really up to them.

cool I agree also. everyone else is taking advantage of vintage releasing why not them? I guess too much clearance involved.
