Achtung Achtung Achtung

As the org's resident U2 junkie, I can safely say that they all have their moments for me. My favorite switches from Achtung to Joshua Tree, usually depending on which one is playing.

I also think War, Unforgettable Fire, and Zooropa are top-notch albums. And ...Atomic Bomb. And maybe Pop and ...Leave Behind. See, I just can't pick.

Its tough because u2 has different era's for me. I could never compare BOY or OCTOBER to Joshua Tree and then compare that to Achtung or Pop, and then compare that to All that You cant leave behind or Atomic Bomb.

I've never really been a huge fan, but I do like Achtung overall quite a lot, and War as well, though I find Bono's presence to be a touch overbearing on that one.

at any given moment, one of these could be my favorite.

The Joshua Tree, Rattle & Hum and Achtung Baby.

I enjoy Rattle & Hum a fair bit.

Joshua Tree is my favorite. I think "the unforgettable fire" is very good also.

It was a joke. For me, Achtung Baby has always been my favorite (that was when I discovered U2), although in the last few years I've really gotten into The Joshua Tree in a serious way. I've always been very partial to the much-maligned Rattle And Hum too, though.

All that said, the album I listen to most at home is How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, followed by All That You Can't Leave Behind. Oh, and U2.Communication, and the audio of the U218Singles Milan show. And all the live collections I've put together from live b-sides.

As much as U2 is one of the ultimate studio bands, they always bring new life to their songs live, and I really appreciated songs like City Of Blinding Lights and All Because Of You way more after hearing them live.

Passengers has some of U2's best stuff - Slug, Your Blue Room, Beach Sequence, Miss Sarajevo, Elvis Ate America - but also some stuff I absolutely can't stand. It's a wonderful album to help make a great playlist. But not an album I like listening to all the way through more than once every year or two.

I love Achtung Baby, Zooropa, Pop and Passengers. They were suddenly, briefly, a hugely interesting group. Thereafter they went back to making their usual bombastic, boring, predictable mullet rock, so we parted ways.
