if it wasn't for Jimmy and Terry,Janet would be in the same boat as Latoya living off the family name. Hell Janet wasn't even Jimmy and Terry first choice to do Control. It's was supposed to be done by one of Alantic starr ex-female lead singer. Her first name is Sharon but i can't think of her last name.
Janet got lucky that the album took off big as it did. cuz if it didn't we would not be having this discussion why in God's name do u wanna make me cry | |

hell no. She'd never have a chance to record an album if not for her famous family. Her voice is weak, weak, weak, weak, weak.

Nope, cuz if anyone remembers Video Soul with Donnie Simpson, He had her on the show and he mentioned to her about turning down the album and asked how did she feel about janet having the sucsees with the ablum., but i think that jimmy and terry brought her the concept of the album and she turned them down. I do like her though. Thank you. I never understood why folks like her voice. It's weak and lifeless. Even when she sreams and hollas she sounds alot like Micheal sped up and a bit flat. ok, very flat. 
I *do* like some of her songs, but not for her voice. You could very well just plop Jennifer lopez in them and I'd like them the same  | |

Let me state for the record that despite what I just said, I do feel that a person should be judge by more than just her voice.

I remember this, it was during Sharon promotional tour for her solo ablum (1988 or1989)people were asking her how did she feel downing the album that would become Control w/Jimmy and Terry. Like i stated earlier i remember Donnie Simpson asking her this on video soul. plus during that time she was known as the woman that turned down control in several publication.  why in God's name do u wanna make me cry | |

However, most Circuit City locations close to major cities would still have Janet Jackson every now and then on CD. So the truth is still out there. People please..... We all know that Janet is NOT a singer. She is an excellent entertainer, but not a singer. And I've loved her for decades. Anyone who says anything different is out of touch with reality. I *do* like some of her songs, but not for her voice.
