Im being a little sarcastic. I'd like to to see Madonna & Cyndi myself. While Janet may be deserving I guess, for some reason I personally can't see it and I'm not even really sure why.

Actually, I know exactly why, but I won't say here. lol

why not?

I'd be flamed for days which is not a bad thing but I don't have the energy for a debate. Plus my opinion is not based in fact and Im sure there are otehr inductees that may fall in the same category if I bothered to look.
Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Better make that 2012. Remember.....Miss Pop Princess refuses to acknowledge those R&B years. She's celebrated two decades as if 1986 was her first album so the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should consider "Control" as her first also.

Exactly, nobody gives Janet Jackson and Dream Street any love. I know fans who don't acknowledge them either, just like how alot of MJ fans don't acknowledge the Motown LPs.

If not, then no.

Why should Olivia be in the Hall?
Janet.....hell yes.

What has Olivia done that Janet hasn't done at least five times over?

Oh trust me--I am absolutely no fan of Olivia.

So to answer your question, Nothing really. They both suck. shrug

Olivia had a cover of her song Let's Get Physical done by a drunken Bill Murray on David Letterman's premiere airing.

If that doesn't qualify for Hall-Of-Fame status.....

falloff

I'm struggling to understand why exactly Janet deserves a place in the RRHOF falloff

I mean, if they let Janet have it, why not the Spice Girls? Or say, any other half talent with a good choreographer or producer(s)?

Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis--now THAT is RRHOF material.

Dreamstreet is out of print and I'm not sure if this album was ever release in the CD format. However, most Circuit City locations close to major cities would still have Janet Jackson every now and then on CD. So the truth is still out there. But it's up to The Janet Fan Club members to show the evidence to the HOF committee boardmembers.

With RN1814, Janet became the first female recording artist to have 7 top 10 hit singles (Billboard Hot 100 Singles USA) from one album. THIS alone is a great reason to put her in the R&R HOF right now if possible! cool

DAMN, Janet Jackson....no no no!

The only thing Jimmy Jam and Terry DIDN'T do for her was sing....

some said the same about diana. but beyond that this isn't the "singers hall of fame"...its rock & roll...and if the sex pistols can get inducted for screaming then i think its a safe bet that artist like madonna and janet (who are not proficient singers but are skilled at everything else) should and will get in.

well it is inevitable whether people like it or not. It is going to happen. There's not a year that goes by that Janet is not being honored or gettting an for something. She must hold the record the most awards received so why should the HOF be any different.

Despite that last two albums she has an excellent catalog of music so why not.

lol lol lol
Janet sold too many records not to be a member, hate or love her these are the facts.

I loved her from Good Times up until All For You. I'm not really feeling her now though.

Haven't felt Olivia since a teenie bopper when she did Grease, even stood by her in Xanidu "A Little More Love".....until I heard it recently and slapped myself silly. lol lol lol
