You can get her first two CDs on a 2-for-1 disc (like the rereleased J5 records). They're both good, but she had me with her vocals on "If You Really Love Me." "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

this was the first record of hers I heard well you know how it speeds up a lil towards the end... the worldwind effect thing her & Stevie was doin wit the vocals that part won't found on the version I downloaded off the internet so I was like this fisrt time I heard the full thing I love "She's Leaving Home" also I don't know which is my favorite from the first album that one or "Black Maybe" from SWP... I love "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" the most the music on this track is meshed with the vocals from her & Stevie I love those first 2 albums on MoWest I have The Spell & Rich Love, Poor Love on vinyl and recently discovered One To One & Syreeta (the one from the 80's with "Quick Slick") because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

I only have a compilation, but i haven`t listened to it since i first bought it. I usually "discover" songs a year after i bought the album

Yeah, I got to know her through her compilation and later I downlouded her 70's albums. I looooove her version of "I Love Every Little Thing About You Baby", the opening says it all
She's so obscure but she got the session scene in lock, esp her work with Patrice Rushen(she co-wrote couple of her songs) and she was a demo artist for Motown singing songs that were later immortalized by The Supremes, Brenda Holloway, Mary Wells and the rest of the female Motown divas. She was a pretty thing..

As long as you're on this tip, make sure you check some Minnie Riperton
, and Rotary Connection (for those more inclined to psychedlic-soul) , , Note the Earth, Wind & Fire connection where Charles Stepney served as producer on the RC sessions test

One of the things I like best about Rotary's last album, "Hey Love", is that you can hear the blueprint of what would become part of the EW&F sound. Take Stepney's strings on, "I Am the Black Gold of The Sun", and compare them to his string and horn arrangement on EW&F's song, "I'd Rather Have You" (From 'Last Days and Time')...the sound was already brewing... ...
