Sounds of Blackness Wooooo!
I went to see Sounds of Blackness last night at the Jazz cafe and was absolutely blown away. They are playing tonight tomorrow and Saturday and if you can get a ticket I would try and check them out. I saw them last year, also in the Jazzcafe. They are really good. They did two sets of about 45 minutes then. You could get tickets to just see the show (we did) or see the show and have dinner. If you do that you are seated upstairs, if you don't you have to stay downstairs, standing room only. | |

Wow, throw back to the 90's!
Evolution Of Gospel rocked my world back in the day. "The Pressure" got a fair amount of airplay here in Holland. Bought the album immediately, but I was stupid and bought Mahalia Jackson's Gospels, Spirituals & Hymns compilation at the same time and was totally blown away by one of the pillars of gospel. |

"Optimistic" got me through one of the rough patches in my life. It still puts me in a good place when I hear it. I'll always have a soft spot for Sounds of Blackness, although I havent really kept up w/them.. 'The Pressure' was hot too. A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE. | |

The Pressure was wicked last night, I think the singer is called Yolande, she was seriously working her lungs! I met her and Adele after and they were really sweet. I also bought their new album, anyone heard that yet? I didn't get a chance to listen to it last night. I had slight reservations about the show thinking that it would be very 90's, but it was a great show.
