After all these years, D'Angelo's "Brown Sugar" is better than ever. It's my crack
"Brown Sugar" "Jonz in my Bonz" "Me and Those Dreamin Eyes" "Smooth" "When We Get By" Pure, 10+, flawless, CLASSIC jams. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

"Brown Sugar" was a near masterpiece, "Voodoo" even better and bolder in my opinion, and then .... WTF did he go? Still waiting, still waiting. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

It's a harsher, rawer album than Brown Sugar, but it does build on the first album. It also hasn't dated a bit. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. You can't beat "Me and Those Dreamin' Eyes", "Alright" and "Lady" (which was the ISHHHHH!!!!) "Brown Sugar" is one of those few albums in my collection that I can listen to straight without skipping a single track I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Most of Voodoo was Booboo. D' was feelin' himself way too much and he was in this mad rush to dethrone P, the liner notes even tell you that. That mumble-sing style shit got on my nerves as well. I'll take Brown Sugar over Booboo any day. Cornbread, Grits, and Collard Greens/I got what you need/If you want it/Cuz I'm a pimp, girl/With a drippy, juicy Jheri Curl
