Anyone catch DIANA ROSS on 'Inside The Actors Studio'?

I thought it was a great! It was 2 hours and James and Diana started from the beginning all the way to the I LOVE YOU album. Some critics out there wondered why she would ever be on this show since she's only made very few pictures. But it was those 70's flicks that were groundbreaking as far as breaking down racial barriers and her Oscar nomination for 'Lady Sings The Blues' was a first.

2 of her sisters, 1 brother, Rupaul (not in drag), 2 daughters (no Tracey), and son and fine ass nephew were all in the audience.

She spoke about all things...Supremes, Barry Gordy, Central Park concert...James Lipton avoided any questions that would likely upset Ms. Ross. She did address the 'conflict' when Gordy kicked Florence Ballard out of the group. But for the most part they were all safe questions.

She seemed very at ease up there and last night really showed a women reflecting on more that 45 years of performing. She talked about her new album being about reflection as she went through countless photo albums thinking about the past, her family , her career. It was very moving. She sang many songs throughout as well....they were..

'Baby Love'
'God Bless The Child'
'It's My Turn'
'The Look of Love'
'I Love You'
'More Today Than Yesterday'

Bravo should repeat this again sometime this week..it's not to be missed!!!

peace

I thought she was going to eat James alive when he asked her about MJ. If looks could kill.

lol

It was a great episode and the reason how i found this . I was looking for her performance of "Be A Lion" from the Wiz and stumbled on that instead.

i was really surprised to be flipping channels and see her on there, i tend to view her more as a singer than an actress, but it was really good.

and sos, the mj portion was one of the best parts! diana loves everyone doest she! lol

That's right! I forgot about the MJ questions. That was awkward.

I LOOOOVED 'The Wiz' as a kid and will checkout the DVD this weekend...brings back memories...Stephanie Mills was up for that role ya know!

stephanie originated that role on broadway as a child and should have played it in the movie but they wanted Diana's star power to carry the movie

oh, is that what that was? our cable froze up today while we were watching the Anna Nicole burial trial, and i was flipping around to see how many channels were affected and I kept coming to this really bizarre freeze frame of Diana Ross on Bravo. so, yeah, i guess i saw that one frame of it. it was probably the best frame of the entire broadcast. great look on her face biggrin

I caught it and thought her self-jab at drug abuse was brave and witty.
