MJ Fans on the Org Post Here!!! Hey! I know the org is full of MJ fans. I'd just like to take a second to have a role call of the MJ fans on the org. (Heck, I know a lot of them are in my org family - but still!)
I'd also like to pose the following question to the MJ fans on the org: How would you feel about Prince producing some tracks for Michael's new album? (I know it probably would not ever happen, but I was just curious.)

You already know about me, I am a big MJ fan.
As for the question. It would be interesting. But I'm not sure if it would work. Prince has got a different sound to MJ. The choices he makes as far as instrumentation and the timbre of certain instruments, if very different to MJ. What would be cool though is if Prince wrote a song that MJ could then take a record and produce himself. And also, Prince is discussed a lot of MJ forums. After he performed at the Superbowl there was a thread about it that was allowed to be posted in the main part of the forum (but was later moved to non-MJ music). Most MJ fans respect Prince. I just wish more Prince fans would respect MJ.

I wouldn't be opposed to Prince producing MJ. I bet MJ would be quite an inspiration to Prince too. Prince is still making good albums, while MJ barely makes music anymore.

I would love any kind of collaboration. Be it Prince producing/writing for MJ, a duet, a performance, even a little guitarwork on a track like he did with Stevie's So What The Fuss. [Edited 2/20/07 2:35am]

I prefer Mike's production. I think he could work wonders for Prince.

yeah prince writing the music and playing the instruments, and michael writing and singing the lyrics and melody would work

I'd love a collabo. But I doubt it will ever happen.
Both artists would try to make the song THEIR song. That wouldn't work. I love Mike, but I think it would be better if Prince would compose and write a song that features Michael. So Michael should only be singing on it and let Prince get his ego.

Well, even though I love both of them and would love their collaboration, I don´t think I would love to hear them sing a duet. Their voice don´t go together with me. I would like Prince to play the guitar and make funky background music and Mike to sing. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Prince wishes he could do something like "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough". Funk isn't Prince's greatest strength IMO. He should focus more on rock, because his best songs are rock IMO. On the other hand, Michael's best songs are more toward to funky edge of R&B and pop (Don't Stop, Sunset Driver, WBSS, Shake Your Body, Get on the Floor). [Edited 2/21/07 1:27am]

Michael hasn't layed down anything remotely funky in years...
Although I do think Monkey Business smells a bit funky around the edges!

In 1987,Prince offered Michael a song for the 'Bad' album :"Wouldn't You Love To Love Me".Michael rejected the song and Prince gave it to Taja Sevelle instead.

Well if will.i.am is right, that's exactly what his new album will be. I hope. And I hope it's released in 2007. I hate when these albums take ages to be released. 2007 is shapping up to be a incredible year
