what, nobody? that's disappointing. great track. recorded at the last minute for the 68 comeback special as a tribute to MLK and RJK

I love this song. I definately get the goosebumps everytime I watch that legendary performance in the stunning white suit from the comeback special. It's a great and powerful song.

It's Elvis, for better and for worse. That song is kind of where he made his transformation from young Elvis to old Elvis.

Old Elvis was super dramatic, theatrical, and young Elvis would never be so over the top. Young Elvis made it look easy, old Elvis maybe tried a bit too hard.

Old Elvis thought he had some bigger cause than simply singing a song, and in 1969 he decided he'd neve again sing a song he didn't believe in--after 10 years of crappy movie music.

I like the song, but it also cracks me up. The line where he sings "where all my brothers walk hand in hand" just seems so overwrought. But then, I can't argue with the sentiment or the passion he sings it with.

I think maybe his best of this type of anthem is the "glory glory hallelujah" trilogy.

"An American Trilogy" it's right up there with this one, if not better.

Yeah, that's the one. Not a concise pop song like If I Can Dream, but a perfect spectacle, the grandest slice of (later) Elvis mania.
