Robbie's Interpretation of His Fall-Out With Take That Is Incredible

.

This is DEF. one of his most powerfully written tracks. you can feel his pain over that fall-out despite all the "i'm over it" attitude and the nasty facade he puts on when it comes to that issue.

..

Tell me a story where we all change
And we’d live our lives together
And not estranged

I didn’t lose my mind, it was mine to give away
Couldn’t stay to watch me cry
You didn’t have the time
So I softly slip away...

No regrets, they don’t work
No regrets now, they only hurt

Sing me a lovesong (sing me a lovesong)
Drop me a line (drop me a line)
Suppose it’s just a point of view
But they tell me I’m doing fine

I know from the outside
We looked good for eachother (some people said)
Felt things we’re going wrong
When you didn’t like my mother (it was all in my head)

I don’t want to hate but that’s all you’ve left me with
A bitter aftertaste and a fantasy
Of how we all could live...

No regrets, they don’t work
No regrets now, they only hurt
( we’ve been told you stay up late)
I know they’re still talking
( you’re far too short to carry weight)
The demons in your head
( return the video’s they’re late)
If I could just stop hating you
I feel sorry for us instead

Remember the photographs, insane
The one where we all laughed, so lame
We were having the time of our lives
Well thank you, it was a real blast

No regrets, they don't work
No regrets now, they only hurt
Write me a love song
Drop me a line
Suppose it's just a point of view
But they tell me I'm doing fine

Everything I wanted to be, everytime I walked away
Everytime you told me to leave, I just wanted to stay
Everytime you looked at me, everytime you smiled
I felt so vacant and you treat me like a child
I love the way we used to laugh, the way we used to smile
Often I sit down and think of you for a while
And then it passes me by and think of someone else instead
I guess the love that we once had is officialy... dead.

Great underrated track.

I'm currently listening to Love Somebody from Escapology, which I haven't listened to since it came out - fantastic track! I'd forgotten all about it.

The only song of his I actually like.
There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

I love me some Robbie, too.

It saddens me that lots of people get fooled by his stage persona and goes on 2 call him a twat, when he is so NOT.

he's fucked up and insecure as hell in the inside, but has to put up this whole act on public to hide behind it.

It's all in his biography, "Feel",, really really amazing read, i strongly recommend it for anybody who wants to know the real Robbie.

I don't know much about him personally, but it does seem that he has very genuine emotions and self-doubts, and the fact that he's just gone into rehab for prescription drugs (supposedly anti-depressants) both saddens me (that he needs rehab) and pleases me (that he might finally get clean).

I saw him in the early solo days, a few weeks after his first album was released, at Glasgow Barrowlands - after being dragged there by a friend who paid for the ticket, I thought it was a fantastic show, and made sure that I would buy each album from then on. Personally, I think a lot of Escapology and Intensive Care is filler, but his other albums (including Rudebox) are, for the most part, very strong. And his b-sides can be surprisingly good, too.

Speaking of self-doubt,,

Live 8 definitely did it for me. It was his 1st appearance before his native audiance in over 2 years and Lord @ the fear on his face when he stepped on the stage.

It was so obvious but they received him just amazingly. And surly he gave them a spectacular performance in return.

Definitely one of my highlights of the event.

As for the U.S, not only they only play Angels, but a Jessica Simpson butchering remake was made,,

Talk about making things worse eek

Every once in a while here in the US, I'll hear Better Man, Feel or Let Me Entertain You, but other than that, it's just Angels.

I haven't heard a Robbie song on a local radio station since Millennium.

Rudebox is turning out to be my favorite album of his (and I love his cover of Lovelight), followed by Sing When You're Winning.

Yup, I think that's very true as I've noticed a similar reaction from people who've heard it. For a lot of casual fans, the lack of his typical mixture of pop ballads & stadium rock is probably an immediate turn off. There's more of a sophisticated and experimental feel here and so it's less mainstream than what would be expected of Robbie.

I think he has a couple of good songs and this is definitely one of them. The ending kicks much ass, especially live. Very dramatic, without being unwillingly comical, IMO.

very dramatic indeed,

Except for 1 time though, when he stated prior to performing it that he just wants to "apologize" to Take That,,

the 2nd the word came outta his mouth, the audiance burst out laughing falloff
