i had never heard of Carol King. One day i was looking through the record store and he album cover just kept grabbing my attention (not sure why, i dont think its anything special). Anyway, i ended up buying the album. Upon getting home and listening to it I was suprised by two things. the first was how many songs i actually knew. The second was how fuckin good it was

Yeah, there`s many familiar songs there, i love "You`ve got a friend" What do you think of her voice? whilst not technically great, it is filled with genuine emotion, and a beautifull naivety. "tonight i see the look of love in your eye... but will u love me tomorrow"? check it out

One of the best albums of the 70s
No filler whatsoever | |

Love it - there's not a wasted minute on it. It's warm, friendly and sentimental without being dopey about it. I figure it's one of the rare seventies singer-songwriter albums that didn't overdose the listener with wimpiness and navel-gazing.

Tapestry is a mandatory listen.
You may not like her voice but the songs are first rate. I used to have... ...Fantasy also. Bit of a side road. For voice & songs, don't sleep on... ...Laura Nyro tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Tapestry is in my top 25 favorite albums. Strong from start to finish with great songwriting and musicianship. I also really dig her voice...may not be the prettiest out there, but she evokes so much emotion. I seriously need to get Tapestry on vinyl.

INCREDIBLE. There is not one bad song on it and practically all the songs have become classics, if not by her, by someone else.
What I like most about this album is that it is a life transitioning album. You can hear the longing and the musings of someone who may have left home to go to San Francisco, and is discovering who she is as a person and her reflections of how life is going for her. Christian Zombie Vampires

Is it as good as people say? About the cover. That is a typical San Francisco apt window sill she is sitting in. It speaks of simplicity as well as referencing the San Francisco times..IMO. I live in SF and the cover maybe speaks to me more so than most. I discovered this album shortly after moving here. It's almost as if she wrote it from my perspactive. Esp songs like you've got a friend and so far away. Christian Zombie Vampires
