Is it the end of road for Youtube?

So many video are being pulled. The biggest offenders seem to be Universal and Viacom. Some of the home videos are cool, but I mostly visit youtube to watch old school videos. Now that most of my favorite videos are gone, I'll find my site visiting that site less and less

And if they are going to pull video, youtube needs to remove the previews. It's frustrating to click on the preview link...only to be directed to this:

This video has been removed due to terms of use violation

youtube will be around to stay & grow, otherwise Google wouldn't have made such an investment!

The "biggest offenders" want to cut a deal with Google. That's all that's about.
Either way, Google has much bigger plans. IPTV, maybe.

Well at least we'll always have those webcam confessionals of people crying over their ex's.

I just hope YouTube doesn't pull a Napster, and charge a subscription fee and then drop everything from being on the damn thing. mad

I knew when Google bought it, it would be nothing but trouble. mad

That's exactly what I fear will happen.

Google is the best thing that could have happened to YouTube because they're ad based.

Right. I doubt the plan was to survive but to be bought out instead. Imagine if Steve got his hands on it. It would be an extension of iTunes now. If Gates won out, it would be a mess. Google and YouTube are the best marriage.

I find it silly that Viacom has their panties in a runt because CBS has their own little channel on You Tube if I'm not mistaken...

That's ignoring. They have pulled all the rare J5 material like the J5 cartoons which I was really enjoying. I hope Youtube is not going to become another avenue for "whose been Frame" videos, where we only get home made videos of people falling over or so.

I had a lot of Prince videos on there, but just closed my own account the other day. I had a lot of subscribers and figured I was drawing too much attention to myself. I already had three videos pulled for violation. I didn't want them suspending my account, so I just closed it.

Youtube is starting to get on my nerves like Myspace did last year. I'm tired of it. Uploads take too long. Comments don't show up. It's annoying.
