after christina's grammy performance...

today i broke down and got tickets to her show. i don't own any of her cds and i wouldn't even call myself a fan. that voice is great, though! if anyone has seen the show already in europe, was it worth it? i've read mixed reviews for the london shows but most seemed to concern the sound at wembley arena more than anything negative about christina's performance.

anyway, i'm actually really excited to see the show. girl can sang!

I saw her last year before Christmas and she was fanstastic. Even though the show itself was a bit tacky, she gave the most unbelievable performance. She´s fantastic live. You won´t regret. I also loved her costumes.

i'm really excited about the show. back to basics is the only one of her cds i've ever considered owning. i don't own it as of now but if the show impresses me enough, i'll pick it up.

She does have a powerful voice. I think it would be cool if her tour had a caberat, burlesque theme to it
If you will, so will I

I agree. It's the only one I would ever consider as well. I've always loved her voice, but found her songs to be pop fluff. The stuff I'm hearing off of B2B has impressed me. It seems she might be growing up, and getting more serious about music itself as an artform.

Come to think of it, "no big deal" is how I'd describe Miss Aguilera. Give me "What a Girl Wants," "Beautiful," and maybe "Genie in a Bottle." Y'all can keep the rest. lol

I wonder who bought tickets to Gwen?

i would have bought tix to gwen but her show is too far from me. my days of traveling to see shows is pretty much over. i'll travel to east jabip for tori, though, and if the destination is just right i'll travel for u2. other than those two, if you ain't coming conveniently close to my city, i'll catch you next time.

no, she's playing two towns in the "area." mountainview and marysville. why play two amphitheatres away from a major city when you could play one night in a major city and make the same money.

i was tempted to go to marysville just for the name alone but i don't drive to the suburbs for a show. lol

I thought she was shite on the Grammys. Her strangulated vocal "tone" annoys me, not to mention her approximation of the sound of a kitten being raped by a donkey 2 minutes in.

I think she has a powerful voice, but she needs to do more self-control. She admitted that the producers of her first album taught her control, but she wasn't happy with not having control or a say in the project. After winning the best new artist grammy, she got more control of her projects and she's back to over-blowing

I saw her concert back when she toured with Justin Timberflake. Her show was better, imo. I really enjoyed her live

aside from live tv performances, i've never seen her sing in person. from what i've seen on tv, though, i wouldn't say she oversings anything. mary j oversings. christina just sangs. her performance of its a mans world was out of this world. that's really what sold me on the show.

hmmm I'd actually say exactly the opposite. Mary J. screams at times, but I think she knows when to be restrained and when to get raw. OTOH, Christina = oversinging in my book. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I always get the feeling she tries too hard -- almost like she's auditioning for American Idol ("Ooh, look at all the notes I can hit!"). I didn't like "It's a Man's World" much at all. She didn't sound bad, but I think she just sang it like some kind of vocal workout as opposed to the touching and stirring ode to women from James. The meaning of the song is supposed to resonate with the listener and IMO it didn't.

I agree with you. I also think she tries too hard to prove herself. We know what she can do. She doesn't need to show us ALL the time
