Brit Awards 2007 I missed this last night, anyone tell me the highlights (if there were any). I heard Joss Stone was a little prissy diva again.. Wish Amy Winehouse had chinned her! The Hottest chip of them all - www.hotchip.co.uk - Get down with Prince

Joss stone is SEXY! She's nowhere near a prissy diva; what are you talking about?
The show wasn't too good. Russel brand should of been waay more explicit but held back and Oasis were embarassing.

Its a joke on this site.
The brit awards crapped on the Grammys as far as originality is concerned, yet it ended up one thread with one response. So much for this site liking "real music". 99.9% of the yanks on here love plastic pop. Wheres Janets tour!?!?! When is MJ's album due!!!! Can anyone that has listened to both tell me that Janets album is better than Amy Winehouse's????? The Brits had Snow Patrol, Amy Winehouse, Oasis, Corrine Bailey Rae and Muse. Plus some great US guests like the Killers, Scissor Sisters and the Chili Peppers. .

In one day, 75 people have viewed the one and only thread about the Brit Awards.
In the same time, 1415 have viewed a Thread about the possibility of Beyonce in swimwear..... Talent rules on the org!..... .

Totally agree, dont know why UK's music and artists get "shit" on over here, or just plain ignored. The show is always better than the Grammy's, hell the Latin Grammys were 1000 times better than the regular grammies, and more diverse. More unique acts over there, the UK still have the best POP music, and i mean real POP music , i guess EURO-POP would be the word, anyway its better than anything we have here. I saw pictures from the show and it looked good as usual, I dont know why everyone is jumping on Joss Stone, shes one of the better artists to come out of this decade. And its funny how we all bitch about Beyonce being everywhere, and it being overkill, and yet we JUMP on her SI cover like she just invented a cure for cancer. Ahhh... the Brits. As ever some great stuff, some not too great but always an entertaining show.
For me the highlights were Amy Whitehouse, Take That (I've surprised myself by quite liking a TT song!), Scissor Sisters in a performance that equalled if not bettered their 2005 appearance, Arctic Monkeys specially filmed acceptance speeches. Low points... too many people gushing sentiments to Robbie, Joss Stones "strange" speech, Oasis- Liam's voice is totally shot maybe time for a solo career Noel, The Fratellis trying to act cool but just looking like drunken knobs aged 13 who can't hold their ale. It's still the only awards show I watch. Roll on next year for more jolly capers!

The show wasn't too good. Russel brand should of been waay more explicit but held back and Oasis were embarassing. She might be sexy, but she thinks her shit don't stink and has an accent that ranges from mockney to some strange resemblence of American. I think she's a good singer, but I really don't get the hype about her. She let's teh side down as far as I am concerned. She needs to learn that she's a little girl who is still learning and shouldn't run before she can walk. The Hottest chip of them all - www.hotchip.co.uk - Get down with Prince

Russell Brand has GOT to go that's all I'm gonna say...
oh and The chili Peppers disappointed me with their interview went on the red carpet... I hoped they'd be nicer guys than that (apart from Flea that is who had the respect to stay until the interview was actually finished and say goodbye) the others just walked off... apart from those two things it rocked! I'm an Amy Winehouse fan bigtime now I'd never heard her before last night

THERE can be no excuse for JOSS STONE’s highly irritating and affected accent. I couldn’t believe my ears as she bowled on stage with a gushing, sickly LA drawl to present the Best Male gong to JAMES MORRISON. She was once a lovely, innocent country girl from Devon with the world at her feet. But now I’d be willing to stump up for her return ticket if she is so desperate to be an American. I thought her impromptu verse from Best Female AMY WINEHOUSE’s track Rehab was totally crass and an ugly, belittling gesture to show she was the better singer. But her antics were even worse backstage. When asked about ROBBIE WILLIAMS and his return to rehab, she burst into tears and gushed: “I saw him only last week. He’s my friend. I’m feeling his pain.” I feel the pain too, Joss. My ears are bleeding. You are from Britain. That’s a badge of honour. Wear it with pride or change your passport. Your mate Robbie still has his very endearing Stokey accent — and he has lived across the Pond for a good few years now.

Only watched the beginning - The Scissor Sisters (great) - and the end - Oasis (Liam - first unintelligible when he made his "speech", then his voice being completely shot to shit when he sang; the band played with all the finesse of a steamroller ...). There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

Jarvis got the shaft.
But that's ok. His solo album is still the best IMO. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

were Oasis that bad?? Terrible. Liam sounded like he's been hanging out with Pete Docherty and the band played a set where every song sounded like rocks falling on stampeding elephants.
