Hit the second-hand shop after work, and might have gone a little over the top...
The thrill of the evening was without a doubt finding the first two Scud Mountain Boys albums. I am a huge Joe Pernice fan regardless of what he calls himself (Pernice Brothers, Chappaquidick Skyline, Scud Mountain Boys, solo), and these two albums were the only gaps in my collection:

Gold - the only 2-disc set, it's the best at the moment 2. Ultimate Collection - almost all of the hits, but they're the shorter single versions 3. The Best of Gap Band - missing a lot of great songs, but it has the major ones in their uncut glory (including some 12" versions) "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I'll consider it a taster to see if I need to pursue it any further. But let's not forget the real exciting news - I found the first two Scud Mountain Boys albums!!! Fuck me!!! I can barely contain myself! Okay, I fully appreciate that this means absolutely nothing to anybody else in the world (except perhaps Mendescity, because he's a Pernice Brothers fan). I'll move on... Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof Off) - Parliament 9. Shake Your Pants (12" Version) - Cameo 10. Shame (12" Version) - Evelyn "Champagne" King 11. Rhino has released a greatest hits comp, which is probably worth checking out if you're interested in B.T. Express. WHy is it that whenever these threads get started people always feel compelled to list bands nobody's heard of?
It's like it's trendy to list bands like Scud Mountain Boys or the Jackson 5. Who the hell are they?
