I've been writing about Tori all night!

I now realise why the latest Tori sounds so bland to me; she admits it;

we could never have recreated the sound of the church where we first recorded, so I just said no. And that was just inexperience. Now I wouldn't think twice about going back in and redoing everything.

she's not talking about taking old songs that weren't recorded then and modernizing them now. she's talking about taking songs she's working on in the present and not letting time or place settings dictate their being perfected.

i think the difference is tori doesn't change lyrics or arrangements. if anything, she gives nuances to the originals.
