There's alot of mixe4d reviews with the white album with people saying it's all great and others stating there's considerable filler; any thoughts?

It's a great album with some filler. And "Revolution 9" is utterly ridiculous. I like "Piggies," though. biggrin

I'm not a Beatles fan but "Blackbird" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"...some great Beatles tracks. I know this sounds crazy although maybe Sextonseven might back me up but I think the best verison of "Dear Prudence" is by Siouxsie and the Banshees.

I certainly like that version more than the original, but I believe a lot of Banshees fans think their cover is a little weak and not truly representative of them.

I guess since I don't have any of their studio albums it is hard for me to judge but their work is kind of varied, isn't it? I just love whenever that song comes on the radio (Sirius 1st Wave) along with thier "The Passenger", which are the two songs of theirs I hear the most often.

Nightcrawler

Get "Revolver" and "Magical Mystery Tour"first.

The "White Album" has many very good tracks but also some tracks I don´t dig. As a whole, it´s a great, versatile album, but not one of my favourite Beatles-Albums (which are Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper, Revolver and Magical Mystery Tour)

Buy this album. One of the best of all time. Just skip over Revolution 9. Pretend it never existed.

No don't! It's a great musical collage. Listen to it once every 3 months.

i like it too. boxed

to me i always thought "revolution 9" was john lennon trying to be frank zappa at the end of 'freak out'. it's crazy and pretentious, but i think it's fun. shrug

revolution 9 was the start of experimental loops in pop music..

hell, there is an entire underground of music that is based off this one very song.. i say it served its purpose. lol
