TRIP THE LIGHT FANTASTIC: Sophie Ellis-Bextor new album : HOT ALBUM ALERT!

The sane and classy alternative to poptarts like Kylie or Hagdonna, is releasing her 3rd album titled "Trip The Light Fantastic".

I've had "exclusive" access to the 5 track sampler of the new album and I have to say that miss Sophie is banging hard...real Hard!

This is shaping up to be the ultimate dance/pop album of the year. Imagine caustic PSB with nighmares of irony mashed up with some Goldfrapp playing a huge surf guitar.

So about the 5 tracks of the sampler:

1. Catch You (3:19)

The 1st single. Massive song. The best infactuation song of the year.

10/10

See the video done by the marvellous Sophie Muller

2. Me and my imagination (3:28)

Very reminiscent of her 1st album...as that Ibiza anthem feel to it. Rumoured second single. The chorus is addictive.

9/10

3. New York City Lights (3:54)

Pure 80's song. Reminds me of Shinny Toy Guns...or something Visage would do I a bad recording day.

9/10

4. If You Go (3:28)

I can't describe this one. The melody is cool...but the rythmic section is very odd.

6/10

5. Today The Sun On Us (4:16)

The guitar is very New Order. Nice song.

7/10

I can't wait to hear the rest of the tunes... biggrin

yep...Fred Schneider if I'm not mistaken. They did 2 tracks, that are not featured on the sampler.

But I don't have more info about it

I'm very interested in checking it out. I like "NYC Lights" (that would make some good club mixes).

Very nice pictures she's got!!

I'm very very interested nod Especially if this is the "dance/pop album of the year". New York City Lights sounds like a really good song.
When will this be out biggrin
If you will, so will I
