Jermaine Dupri appointed president at Island Records Jermaine Dupri appointed president at Island Records
Janet Jackson's boyfriend heads up Urban Music Producer Jermaine Dupri has been appointed president of Island Records Urban Music, a new department at the label. Dupri, who until recently headed up Virgin's urban music department, will oversee Island's urban music activities. Having worked as a successful producer with the likes of Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, Whitney Houston and Alicia Keys, Dupri left his post at Virgin in October when his girlfriend Janet Jackson's '20 Y.O.' album sold disappointingly. Dupri produced the 1992 hit 'Jump' by backwards-jeans wearing duo Kriss Kross, when he was just 19 years old. http://www.nme.com/news/jay-z/26331 Island used to be a great label. Yes. Sad isn't it? The label of Roxy Music and Bob Marley, now in the hands of the dwarf mangler. Guess you can expect Janet's coup de grace to her career to plop up on there sometime in 2009. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

Its not as bad as Motown. Motown is the biggest joke right now, it does nothing for its artists (the few that they have), it has done nothing to preserve true RB.. Funny you mention Mototown. Earlier I was thinking about the Andre Harrell fiasco. And where did all the hype about JD and Janet disappear to? It used to be you couldn't turn on the tv or walk past the newsstand without being reminded that they're 2gether. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Yes, no doubt. If he's around long enough to mastermind yet another bomb. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

Yes, no doubt. If he's around long enough to mastermind yet another bomb. Even Janet can't be that "in love" aka delsional! She's got to do this next album on her own without the interests of her boyfriend.
