No album was ever released.
However, Dez is currently selling a 2CD compilation of all his unreleased 80s tracks (including "Modernaire") on his website: http://www.dezdickerson.com/

You should visit the "Associated Artists" forum more often. There have been many threads on Dez Dickerson and the song "Modernaire".Here's a recent thread:

It's more like new wave/rock. Remember Dez opened for Billy Idol in the 80s so his music is more comparable to him than Prince.

Dez got a great reception from Billy's fans, which was cool. It just showed how popular Dez was while he was in P's band. Next to P, Dez was definately the most visual in the group. In many ways, more so than Prince. But this was something that I actually posted on here, well over 2 years ago. I remember Dez's album from 84 actually being released as an import. But I didn't get hip to it untill the mid 90's. I searched for a copy and ran across a cat who owned an import shop who said he sold a copy for $200 sealed. He had the info on it too, such as the tracklisting, liner notes, etc. It was on Warner Bros. It was to come out with The Time's, Sheila's, Apples, etc. Word was that P went to his good friend Lenny Waronker at WB and said that he didn't want Dez's album released at the same time as The Time's, Sheila, etc because he didn't want it to conflict with anything. So they pulled Dez's album and shot for a later released date for later that year. Which of course, never happened. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
