My favorite song from the JT-era Kool & the Gang. THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. HOLD ON TO YOUR DRAWERS!

I'm still trying to figure out which is my favorite Kool and The Gang album from the 80s.1981's 'Something Special',which features "Take My Heart",is a strong contender. In addition to that great song,it also includes the dancefloor jams "Get Down On It" and the superior "Steppin Out".It also features a stunning slow jam "No Show" that, amazingly, was never released as a single.
The 1983 album 'In The Heart' is also a favorite. This album contains several smooth jams like "Joanna" and my favorite "September Love" (another superb song that should have been a single). It also contains "Tonight",a funk/rock classic. One day,I'll finally pick a favorite
