Damn, Rick did that interview dusted!!
it's a shame how much rick tried to bite Prince towards the end. he should have just stuck to what he knew, 'cuz it was working. 
btw, i don't think Prince was ever jealous of Rick nor did Rick pick on P. Rick was the last thing on P's mind in '88. | |

btw, i don't think Prince was ever jealous of Rick nor did Rick pick on P. Rick was the last thing on P's mind in '88. I've said it before but I feel compelled to say it again. I loved Rick when I was comimg up. Who didn't? But after I saw the Glow video, I lost an awful lot of respect for him because it was completely obvious that being Rick James was no longer good enough for him. He wanted to be Prince. I couldn't create a more compelling case than his own actions during that period that his one time opener had in fact become not only THE headliner but Rick's own begrudged idol. Man, talk about being taken to school. That's deep.  | |

funkpill you rule son! I remember seeing the 88 interview back then. But by that time Rick was on his way out.
That 2004 clip of Rick playing the out of tune acoustic blues was interesting. | |
