KC & the Sunshine Band!

So of course we all know their hits, but recently I've been really in the moood for dancing to some disco-funk. I love all the well know songs, so is it worrth it for me to pick up their albums, and if so which ones?

Also any other suggestions of similar artists would be greatly appreciated biggrin

If you're looking for something that has the KC sound with a better singer...

...consider Jimmy "Bo" Horne. The Best of the T.K. Years, 1975-1985

A couple of other T.K. artists KC was involved with were George & Gwen McCrae.

better yet...look for any artist that did stuff under the TK records label (and all of its subsidiary labels). almost everything TK put out was excellent, and they're one of my fave labels.

As The Audience said, definately Jimmy "Bo" Horne with jams like "You Make Me Hot" and "Dance Across The Floor" which are very KC sounding.

I don't know that I have a preference for Bo Horne over KC. I like them both. Since KC produced both Bo and George McCrae, they've got very similar sounds.

Yeah, KC's voice works for the KC tunes.
To me, adding the stronger Jimmy "Bo" Horne vocals is the KC Vibe 2.0. cool

A staple of Henry Stone's TK stable.
The late great Jaco Pastorius played on Little Beaver cuts I Can Dig it Baby & Funkadelic Sounds.

The thing he's probably most known for (at least among musicians) are the signature guitar parts he plays on Betty Wright's hit Clean Up Woman

Love this song but amazingly,I prefer the single version instead of the album version. The album version is mostly instrumental with lots of party noises confuse They must have been high when they recorded it,lol. The single version is more focused, with actual verses and vocals.
