I like Robin, but he hasn't got half the talent Lewis has.

No, Robin doesn't sound anything like Lewis to me. Lewis has a more soulful voice.

Yes, he is. He has style, substance, and versatility.

My main problem with Robin is that there's no tone or character to his voice.

Singles I have heard do not sound versitile. Safe maybe though.

Thicke is Kool ( I did hear some similarity), but Lewis Taylor is firing on all cylinders...

Lewis has got that Thing, Like Prince, Shuggie Otis, Brian Wilson, Sly Stone, Todd Rundgren --can play any instrument (and Kill it!), he's at home playing different styles of music, boundless imagination.....now if only he hadn't "retired".....

Between his two albums, he'd done a variety of styles well IMO.

I totally agree.
From what i've heard, he doesn't have the width or depth of Lewis Taylor.

? Dino wrote, produced, played on all his first 2 albums. Even Jeff Lorber helped out on some cuts, and he is very well known in session musicians corners. He had some soulful slowjams no question.

Problem with dino was his image. Still, my sister apparantly fancied him for a while.

Robin, seems, from the singles I have heard, to be doing his own thing, but it is not really that radically different from anything else at the moment.
