What's New in Your Collection?

I just spent a fat load of that long green at the record store and bought the following (which include a few recommends from some trusted Orgers):

Roy Ayers Ubiquity - Everybody Loves the Sunshine

David Bowie - Hunky Dory

David Bowie - Diamond Dogs

David Crosby - If I Could Only Remember My Name

Marvin Gaye - I Want You

Journey - Frontiers

Journey - Raised on Radio

Maze - Joy and Pain

Todd Rundgren - Todd

Stevie Wonder - Fulfillingness' First Finale

It was a testosterone-heavy trip, as they didn't have some of the selections I wanted from the female artists on my list. That's what's new for me. So I ask of you - what's new, pussycat? biggrin

The Postman Rang Twice Today!

David Sancious...

...Transformation (The Speed of Love) 1976

Prog Rock of the Fusion variety

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Robben Ford...

...The Inside Story 1979

His 3rd solo but the 1st heard by most folks.
Could be considered the first Yellowjackets album sans the billing.

Nice recommendations biggrin Thanks to Uncle Sam for the dough; the bulk of it went into our buyin'-a-house fun, the rest was put to aural use. music

She came in FULL circle with this album. Unlike her previous, she seem abit happier and upbeat here.

This is a feel-good album music

I'm really beginning to warm up to Roberta's music.

In 2007? Nothing.

I spent way too much on music in 2006 so I'm really cutting back this year. I may pick up the new K-Os and Kittie albums this month, but I don't see anything else on the horizon.

:::

Jay-Jay Johanson :: The Long Term Physical Effects Are Not Yet Known (2007)

This is Jay-Jay's follow-up to 2005's Rush. I wore that album out and have been anticipating this record since early fall. Finally got my hands on it and enjoy it. It's a return-to-form for him. Where Rush was a very dancey, electrofied affair, this album is more downbeat and trip hop much like his work Pre-Antenna.

:::

The Attic :: The One (2006)

The whole album is great. Sonically bright tech-house. In particular, there's a track I really enjoy entitled "In Your Eyes (Ballad Version)," such a beautiful song. This is a very bright album for me given the time of year. I cannot wait for spring and summer so I can play this album outside in the sunshine.

I was in the record store last weekend and left with nothing. I had gone in there looking for the "Gay Sex In The 70s" soundtrack and it wasn't in there. I tried to think of something else I wanted but everything they had, I already had.

sort of. the indie crowd apparently knows all of them. most of them are new to me (not PSB, pedro, or my brightest diamond) though. i'm in a mood where i'm tired of most of my music. i'm tired of the lyrics, the imagery, the whole bit. i needed some new, unfamiliar territory to wake me up a bit.

Meanwhile, I'm filling in gaps with my favorites and can't handle anything new.

I hope I get over that soon though cuz this year looks to be a doozie.
