Bobby Womack, Anybody? I got this recently...
Nice stuff Most of the stuff I know from him is the stuff he wrote for other folks. But my real introduction to him was through Rufus/Chaka's "Stop On By" and Pam Grier's movie Jackie Brown's opening song "Across 110th Stree"(Which I believe is another movie's theme by the same name). That's the 2-disc set, right? It's excellent. You should also track down the demo to "Across 110th Street." "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Can you describe the demo version? Is it like an acoustic set?

You've gotta love an underrated guitarist that plays left-handed upside-down.
Seriously though, he's got musical links from Sam Cooke & Ray Charles to the Rolling Stones & Janis Joplin. Some fav albums... tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

to give recommendations is a toughy, just tooooo many.... my personal introduction to the man as a solo artists was The Poet II, so this will always have a special place in my heart http://www.youtube.com/wa...LnNFZ3RbpU Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green.
