Been listening to this song, I love it! I remember when it first was released, back in 1982. Love the guitars in the beginning of the song, the Jamaican/ Carribean keyboards, then the way the drums kick in. The video wasn't much, but I sure do love this tune! Come to think of it, the lyrics aren't much either, but it's a fun song to sing along to, especially the "Eye yi yi yi ya ya...Eye eye yi yi yi yi ya ya" part.

Ah yes, good old Haircut 100 (stupid name, even the band said so).

Funky, tropical, poppy without the corniness, and fun at the same time. "Pelican West" never gets old to me.

I learned to improve my funk rhythm guitar playing through Nick Heyward and Graham Jones.
