I read somewhere (maybe on here?) about a week ago, that they were considering Olivia Newton John. That would make more sense honestly. Courtney Love will probabbly fall off the wagon before they even bring her on the show.

Courtney Love Will Not Replace Paula Abdul
POSTED: 10:50 am EST January 31, 2007 UPDATED: 9:14 pm EST January 31, 2007 Singer Courtney Love has not been asked if she would be interested in sitting in as a judge on "American Idol." Both Love's publicist and "American Idol" executive producer Nigel Lythgoe have denied the Us Weekly report. Love reportedly told Usmagazine.com that Lythgoe called her office last week to ask whether she was interested in appearing on the show. Love reportedly said she thought the idea was "weird, but brilliant." Love's representative told E! News there was "no truth to it whatsoever" to the "Idol" rumors. And Lythgoe denied having ever called Love. "I did not call Courtney Love and am afraid someone may have misrepresented me," executive producer Nigel Lythgoe said in a statement. "Courtney Love is a very talented artist, but the judges for American Idol are Paula, Randy and Simon. We have no plans to add to or replace any of them." Usmagazine.com earlier quoted another source who said Lythgoe was considering replacing Paula Abdul with Love. But now the magazine said Love got "punked." A source close to Love reportedly told the magazine, "It was probably a prank." Abdul has received a great deal of criticism this season, following several satellite TV interview appearances in which she appeared to be intoxicated. A statement from Abdul said her appearance during the interviews was the result of exhaustion and technical difficulties with the audio feed during the interviews. Love is currently prepping the release of her second solo album, titled "How Dirty Girls Get Clean." She began recording the project in 2005, following the completion of a court-ordered drug rehabilitation stint.
