supa, i used to know someone who was friends with the guy in imperial drag and was a big fan...i wish i could remember which friend it was, but it was ages ago. isn't that the band of the gay guy from faith no more? he and courtney love are good friends (or at least they were, ha). and oddly...i've never listened to them! thanks for digging them back up to the surface for me. hug

so for YOU, i would recommend...hmmmmm....

one of their most underrated and delicious albums. it's a straightforward pop album - no segues or weird instrumental thingies like on most of their other records - and i think in a way it's kinda their love letter to america...to me, it sounds like burt bacharach by way of fleetwood mac, with a random twist of abba here and there. it's probably the one of the gayest albums sub pop ever released. lol

biggrin biggrin biggrin

I have been archiving my albums on my harddrive and I came across the Imperial Drag album and you were the first person to come to mind lol I have no idea of any connections outside that little album. I remember I bought it at this indie store that used to have employee recommendations and I ended up loving up nod

Now for your recommendation, I have never even heard of these people and based on your description I will be checking this out. Remember, I do love having my pop sensibilities jacked off wink

You're thinking of Imperial Teen, and they were formed by Roddy Bottum from Faith No More (he's my rock star boyfriend). woot! They're a favorite of mine. Imperial Teen are big Blondie Fans and is shows in some of their music. Roddy and Courtney are longtime friends and have been working on and off on a bio on Linda Lovelace. I don't think it's ever going to happen.

I recommend them to the whole of the Org because I think the majority of people will like them. You can call me JD by the way. wink Maybe not so much Make-Up and Jamie T at the end there, but definetely the rest.
