David Ruffin's grand daughter killed in drive-by shooting

This is breaking news. I just caught this story on the late news so there isnt alot of information yet but this is what we do know: The grand daughter of the late Motown legend, David Ruffin (of the Temptations) was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in Detroit tonight. I believe she was only 19 years old. As I get additional info, I'll update.

Temptations singer's granddaughter shot dead

Norman Sinclair / The Detroit News

DETROIT -- Mone Little, a 19-year-old shot dead Sunday night in a drive-by shooting on the city's west side, was identified by a family friend as the granddaughter of the late Motown singing great, David Ruffin.

Police responded to a call at 6612 Boxwood where a shooting was reported at 11:15 p.m. Witnesses told police that four people, including Little, were leaving the house when a black Ford Crown Victoria pulled up and someone fired a volley of shots at the foursome, striking Little.

No one else was injured in the shooting.

Little's mother, Kimberly, is the youngest of Ruffin's three daughters. Family members could not be reached for comment.

Ruffin, a member of the Temptations, sang such Motown standards as "My Girl," "I Wish It Would Rain," and "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." Ruffin died of an accidental drug overdose in Philadelphia in 1991.
