You`re lucky if you find this cd for under $100....
I haven`t heard this album yet, but i`m very curious. I would kill to hear "Be-bop medley" . [Edited 1/27/07 1:14am]

You should be able to download the song from Limewire. IMO, the "Chaka Khan" CD is her best solo album. She does a FIERY version of the Jacksons' GOT TO BE THERE and she does a hot duet with Rick James titled SLOW DANCIN. And of course, the eerily haunting "TWISTED."

amazingly, the duet with Rick James "Slow Dancin" was never released as a single.Chaka's label (Warner Bros.) wanted to release it but Rick's label (Motown) wouldn't approve it.In the end,it didn't matter...R&B radio stations played it anyway.

...
I grabbed this cd import back in the early nineties, when it came out in Japan, but then they deleted after about 6 months! I don't know why they do that, but it was the same with most of their R&B stuff (the 'Raydio' albums, the Brothers Johsnon "Winners" album, etc...)Japan would always release this stuff on CD for a limited time, then let it go out of print later that same year. What's the point? Bythe time a lot of people realize it's out, then it's gone!! I guess the bigger question is, why can't alot of this get released in the US in the first place? Btw, "Twisted", "Be-Bop Medley", and "Slow Dancin" are THE cuts!!!! ... [Edited 1/29/07 8:24am] " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

... Becoz they want to "test the water". Japan holds the BIGGEST market of music consumers.

For some reason, I couldn't get into Be-Bop medly.
I guess she wanted to repeat herself right after a "Night In Tunisia". But unlike the former, this production is BUSY as hell. It couldn't go wrong with Betty Carter though, she openly praised this collaboration.

Exactly,,,but in some case, some artists want some of their albums pulled out of the market, and it happens. Can't really give you an example right now coz I can't think of none but I heard about it plenty of times.

That being the case, i'm gonna be watching for the early George Duke BASF releases like a hawk! The don't get released in the U.S. because the record companies don't see enough $$$ in it for them. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn.
