anyone still listening to 20YO besides me?

loving the 2nd half of the record now-a-days. used to be all about the jams up front; i like "call on me" better than ever, especially the bridge and nelly's verse.

peace.

tour anyone?

Yeah, i listen to the 2nd half more than the more dance oriented 1st half. Most of those ballads are simply great gems, even though Janet's voice seems to get more high-pitched with each album.

I think that Damita Jo is 10 times better than 20 Y.O! I was listening to that album last nite and it still puts me in a subtle mood everytime I listen to it. Too bad the album flopped because it was a good album...

I still like 20 Yo more than DJ. Guess that DJ is a mixed affair, some 50% great songs, horrible interludes

Those interludes on DJ were terrible, though. i personally consider 20 YO as a decent affair because the some of the production sounds too much like an ordinary J. Dupri production. I don't think he did too much of anything to actually make this album sound uplifted and free. It's just like All For You part 2 and then some!

Sometimes I would love that she had merged the best of DJ with 20 YO

nod Ditto! This album, Kanye West's College Dropout and Brandy's Afrodisiac from 2004 were the joints I played heavily back in the spring and summer of that year. Too bad that when Janet released the Damita Jo album it only peaked at #2 on the billboard charts and then dropped instantly.

i haven't listened to it in a while. (for reasons not directly related to the album) but i do like it. i've been seeing the video for "so excited" pop up a bit more often, and hearing it at a couple clubs. snyone know if there will be a 3rd or 4th single, or is this project done?

Same here and I love the single of it that iTunes offers with all the club/dance remixes. I love the track, "So Excited." It is my all time favorite Janet song..EVER. Second only to, "R&B Junkie."

I'm pleased for you and Janet. At least six of the fifteen people who bought the album like it.

As for a tour .... a pal of mine who works for EMI here (who own Virgin) tells me that there's a Greatest Hits package planned for "later this year" - two editions - standard hits and a limited edition with another CD of remixes. Possibly a couple of Japanese import/non-album B-sides in there too. Still at the drawing board stage. So she may tour behind that.

Needless to say, I wasn't actually ASKING him about Janet at the time, but about The Stones and John Lydon/Public Image ... But he knows me well.
