Well there-in lies the problem, first i dont know how a label can be "upset" at an album moving 300-400,000 units in this climate in under a year. Especially with no radio/video support. But once again theres another issue, one Radio is stuck on the same 10 song playlist and the same goes for the video stations. MTV right plays about 1 hour of Videos a day, VH1 which used to play alot are now down to only playing music videos from 3am-9am, BET plays about 4 hours a day, but the thing is its almost the same run of videos everyday. Right now the only video outlet to me is IMF, international music feed, where there are no VJ's, no Reality shows, no rerun of shows i didnt like the first time, its straight 24 hours of videos from all over the world, and its not just playing the Popular artists, you might see Beyonce once a day maybe.

The fact that artists right now are paying for their own videos with their own advances is incredible, so why have a label at this point? all these artists getting dropped or not played should pool whatever money they have and start a new Video channel playing nothing but videos. And to make their videos they should just get film students who need experience shoot their vids, fuck these Video directors who get a million to do the same video over and over.

She is a Whitney in the making. A real car crash! She seemed so sweet when she first came out, now she is Super Ghetto with her ugly tats.

my taste in music gets weirder
and weirder with the years

aformentioned (in some other thread)
I think I have succumbed to todays "wackery" (if you will)

but this Monica record was well
put together in my honest opinion
"Getaway" is that signature Monica sound

oh well. That whole "ride or die" chick persona is soooo tired. She needs to grow up and sing about some more mature subject matter. her voice it too good to be wasted on the ghetto crap she sings. people that would be buying her albums (grown folk) don't wanna hear that shit anymore.

Someone needs to tell her that Ciara stole her steelo and that was basically the end of Monica.

Monica had some support from media. I unfortunately saw a couple of her new videos in summer on BET

I turned.

I'm NOT a Monica fan. Please. Good riddance.

Can you preach or what? I totally hated this CD. the only song I liked was Gotta Move On. Seems like she's been singing the same ghetto-licious jams for the past 3 albums. She does need to mature and sing about love or something. not running around in the hood. I had high hopes, but to sing that you remind me of my Gucci shoes...puh-lease.

Oh, Monica...

At least we'll always have the first album (and "The First Night").

"after the storm" sold 1.2 million and this album hasn't even been out that long, so they don't have a reason to drop her, unless she left voluntarily.

They seem to be really pushing Sideline Ho which IMO is the strongest track on the cd...

It is. When that track 1st leaked, I was gung ho, but the rest of the CD was non-sense. Gotta move on is my fav...hands down. Maybe Monica needs to move away from Missy. Now Monica

thumbs up! Almost everything after So Gone (IMO, her last great single) has been so cluckalicious and trite.

I can't believe they actually
had an online petition to
shoot a video for "Sideline Ho"

that's like the only song I can do without
probably because it hit home

Gosh, it'd be great if Prince, having done so much to champion the rights of musicians in other areas, would get together with his legends friends and put together a real label that generated good music for actually talented artists. So they don't have to demean themselves with product that's far beneath them -- only to be dropped in the end.

disbelief
