Interesting songs you heard in a store

Not talking music stores, because of course that's a whole different level - I thought of this thinking about music used in marketing/advertising but there is already a thread for that.

While shopping, most of the time you hear top hits, but sometimes stores switch the game up by playing some old shits, or at least not current songs.

Recall some.

Red Lobster used to play U2's 'Crumbs From Your Table'; I think they somehow misunderstood the song's message. Nothing like eating a $30 lobster dinner to a song about abject African poverty shrug

This is true. I heard "Let's Pretend We're Married" unedited at a Gus Macker 3 on 3 basketball tournament in my hometown.

All these kids subliminally being told "I sincerely wanna fuck the taste out of your mouth." lol

Interesting, I wrote about a scenario like this some weeks ago.

While wandering around the local CVS pharmacy,...

...Ain't No Love - Paul Carrack came across the sound system.

the video store I frequent is staffed by hipsters, so I usually hear something pretty interesting when I pop in. I've heard Neu, Wire, Gang of Four...pretty much every act you can imagine a music snob playing. last weekend they were playing the Minutemen's Double Nickels on the Dime.
