(Soul Train) The Bus Boys?

I just saw a great Soul Train repeat episode from the 80's featuring Pebbles and Jermaine Stewart as guests. It was a great episode featuring all those great 80's Fashions (Pleather and jeri curls). The Music was great but there was a band called The Bus boys who only Performed one song. Anyone have any info on them?

They were a popular L.A. band in the 80s...

...made up of brothers Brian & Kevin O'Neal, Gus Louderman, Mike Jones, Victor Johnson & Steve Felix.

You may remember them from their appearance in the Eddie Murphy movie 48 Hours.
They even got an article in TIME: http://www.time.com/time/...82,00.html

But after 2 albums on Arista...

...the novelty of what they do must've worn off.

I haven't seen Brian in years but the last I heard Victor Johnson (http://www.vic-johnson.com/) was playing guitar with Sammy Hagar's band.

It appears that Brian has kept the band going in some capacity and has changed the name to Brian O'Neal & The Bus Boys.
There's a website up @ http://www.busboys.com/

I caught this show the other day. I try to watch it every Saturday. I had never heard of The Bus Boys. Is it just me or did it seem like the lead singer of this band and Don didnt get along well? Pebbles looked hot. That episode originally aired 19 years ago! The Soul Train line song was Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal.

I saw this episode too.I heard of the Bus Boys back in the 80s,but I'm not too familiar with their music. The song they performed was pretty good, though. It's a trip seeing these old Soul Train episodes....it's like going back in a time machine.

I was surprised by their "Soul Train" performance. When I heard the name, The Bus Boys, I didn't know why the hell "Soul Train" would have a rock group on the show anyway. When I heard the song they did, I was surprised and pleased....it was funk.

That one was a duet he did with Stevie Wonder and I'm sure it's probably on Stevie's album that was released that year.

It's called Get It and it's from the album Characters which was released, I believe, in 1987. Not a strong album but there are a few good cuts on it - Skeletons, Dark 'n' Lovely, With Each Beat of My Heart. I don't really like the MJ duet.
