I bought "La Dona". Other than "I'm Still In Love" and "A Rose Is A Rose" (which are OK but ain't all that), I hated the rest of the album. It sounded just like the rest of the bullshit that's all over the radio these days.

I didn't buy "Sapphire". I heard a song from the album on the radio and hated it. From now on, if I hear a new song of her's that catches my ear, I will ask around and see if anyone I know has it and can make me a copy. Other than that, I won't spend any more money on her because as long as she makes money for making shitty sounding music, she will continue to make shitty sounding music.

Okay, now i`ve gotten "Passion play", and listened through it...

There are some desent tracks here:

"Hypnotized" - A Linda Jones cover, it`s an okay ballad, but nothing more.

"Slow grind" - A little dated, but a catching saxophone driven refrain. I like how she refer to one of her ealriest songs; "Slow grind - i told you i was going to have my cake" music

"Climb the walls" - The album`s standout track. This is classic Lady T, a beautiful ballad love

"Pretty man" - A nice, slow "Spanglish"(!) song with a beautiful latin rhythm...

"The air i breathe" - Normally, this would be a pretty average song considering the lyrics, but Marie`s vocals saves it... It`s almost up there with "Climb the walls"

The rest of the album is very forgettable, all uptempo tracks, that just doesn`t go anywhere.

I actually liked the first two tracks---- As Warm As Momma's Oven, and Main Squeeze---- the first is Kool mid-tempo Funk, and the second has a nice samba feel--I even like Lenny Kravitz's vocals, and I ain't really a Lenny Fan, lol !!

her new music isnt up 2 the artistic level of magic or irons
however it is good r&b
there is a "secret" market out there 4 all of the old school pimps and hustlers
she makes music 4 that crowd
if u aint hip or in2 that kind of music, u might not get La Dona or Sapphire.
minor keys and drugs don't make a rollerskate jam
