DAMN! I use to have one of those not that long ago lol. Now you made want to go to the pawn shop and buy one "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I doubt this will happen. This is what Will.I.Am wants MJ to do, but knowing Michael Jackson, he'll want a big-budget release on a major label.

Except Will.I.Am actually KNOWS-knows Michael Jackson and you don't.

What I mean is I know his history. Every album since Thriller has been big-budget, multi-million dollar promotion, and all that. I can't see MJ going from that to being an independant artist selling music on the internet. Besides, Will.I.Am has just set up a new business for selling music on the internet, and what he's doing is not trying to help Michael be successful, he just wants to use Michael to make his business popular. He's a young artist, and because he's new on the scene, he can afford to mess around and test things out like internet downloading. But Michael is a long-time record artist who has been around since the vinyl days, and it wont be as easy as ABC to get such an artist out of the usual procedures of singing a recording contract with a label to sell, promote and distribute your album, to selling it over the internet where everything is completely different. This guy has been around since the late 60s. It's going to be completely foriegn to him. I just think that if Will.I.Am makes one wrong move it could completely fuck up Michael's career that been around since 1969. Michael's not going to want to do this. [Edited 1/26/07 21:44pm]

I think this could mean there will be a huge delay on the album. I think if Michael disagrees with this way of releasing his album, then it'll tear Will.I.Am and Michael apart and he'll have to find another producer and pratically start the whole album again.

Who really cares? As long as it's new music then it's good.
And it may even be a good thing. He could release whatever he likes on the net. No record company interference whatsoever. I'd rather have an album released only on the net which was 100% MJ's creative vision than an album released in-stores which was tampered with by A&R men so it appealed to a "teen audience".

You're right. I mean, Michael isn't a young, hot hip-hop star. But knowing most major music labels, they are going to shit all over his music with hot beats, guest rappers and what not. Releasing his music without a record label could mean we'll hear Michael Jackson, not DJ Micky Jay or some shit. Unfortunately Will.I.Am could prevent us from hearing Michael Jackson. However, he's said some stuff like "we are creating melodies that will bring out emotions in people and beats that will make the dance" that makes me think he is letting Michael be Michael.

Will.i.am needs to stop with the speculating. Michael has never said that he would release his new album only on the internet. That is Will.i.am's words. The sad thing is that idiots will claim that Michael said it and if it doesn't happen; they will make a big mess out of it and blame MJ for something that he never said in the first place. I hate it when the people who are working with Michael start to "run their mouths"before a project is finished. I want to be surprised as I was surprised-pleasantly- with the music on Invincible. I never expected a "Butterflies", "Break of Dawn" "Heaven Can Wait", YRMW or "Whatever Happens" and when I heard Michael singing those songs, it blew my mind. I loved the album.

Well, I would buy it, of course, but I´d prefer the old fashion CD with booklet. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

In terms of record sales it's a smart move because he'll probably get to keep more of the money. He'll make a killing with the overseas sales.

I was upset when prince did this and I'm a thousand times more upset that michael is doing this. Could it be the fact that he has prince's former manager in his team?

Some people can't get a credit card, even though they certainly can afford a CD.

Those people need to work their shit out & maybe have a friend do it for them until they can do it for themselves It may be unfair but the world is moving in a way that doesn't allow MJ to care who has credit cards & who doesnt
