"Chapter 27" gets poor reaction at Sundance The film that basically deals with the mind of Mark David Chapman and his accounts of his weekend before the Monday evening when he shot John Lennon has not gotten the reaction that the stars of this movie thought it would. As expected there is a HUGE controversy and Boycott over this film in the works by Lennon fans and family most notable Sean and Yoko, yet to respond are surviving Beatle members and Julian and Cynthia, but i doubt it will be positive. The idea of this film is a bit odd and disturbing since its almost like making a movie out of a murderers own words, though not written by Chapman almost everything in the film is written based on Chapmans statements after the murder and in prison. From what i have heard the film didnt get the "raves" that the makers and actors thought it would, obviously it will be released but it could backfire on its stars Jared Leto and Lindsay Lohan who portray Chapman and his friend. This film is also listed as an "Independant" film which it is not, though not done by a "Major" studio an indie film by terms can not cost over a million to make which this film did and many so called "indie" films do, yet another over used term. As for the film itself, all opinion deserves to be heard, and see freedom of speech would be something John Lennon stood for i guess the film deserves release, but you cannot blame the families and friends of Lennon for being against this premise for a movie.
