is it the Classic Records show...I watched it last night. They all love Jimi to the nTH degree...I liked it too. I like the way they break down the record at the soundboard and go over every part. Reminds me of The Tommy Dowd documentary I saw...with him and Layla at the end. I wish Prince would do one of these, but it sounds the exact opposite of Prince's philosophy(sp?)

Yup, that's the one! It was cool the way they explained how Jimi made different sounds on the record - very interesting!

I'm gonna go pick some of those DVD's up...it seems there's a bunch of them.

I was stoned when watching it last night and could give it another view, and another, and another....etc..

I loved it when they were talking about Jimi's impersonations of Little Richard. All I can think of is those Geico commercials....

also it reminded me of Prince and his practical jokes....they seem like similar characters...serios on record, a riot in life.

nod Agreed - Jimi does seem to have a great sense of humor, as Prince does. They probably would have gotten along great!

If you want to hear Jimi in cutup mode...

...check out the Baggy's Rehearsal Sessions disc.

This was the rehearsal prior to the historic Band Of Gypsys show at The Fillmore East.

It's funny you brought this topic up.
When I got home from work last night, my 14 year old metal-head drummer daughter was watching Woodstock on VH-1.

I showed her my (Eddie Kramer autographed) copy of...

...Jimi Hendrix - Live At Woodstock

She asked me if I was at Woodstock.
I told her, "No, my parents wouldn't let me." smile
