What are the greatest funk/rock songs ever?

What songs blend funk and rock in perfect harmony?

I like your threads sitruk7. smile Well, for me a rock song has to have distorted rhythm guitar... These are some of my favorites...

1. Electric Chair - Prince
2. I'm Yours - Prince
3. Let's Go Crazy - Prince
4. Give it Away - Red Hot Chilli Peppers
5. Elephants and Flowers - Prince

A band called Truth inc made what was then funk (newjackswing) aswell as some rock. A black group doing a soft rock anthem, was bizarre, but their vocals were tight.

Also, Rhythm Syndicate did mix some rock and funk on their second album "sex, life and love" (1992). "sexitivity" is a slept on jam and then some.

To me I always thought about 'Bambi' as being a straight-on hard rock song by Prince. The song sounded like it could have been on one of Van Halen's late seventies albums released right around the same time as the 'Prince' album. And the whole subject of the song just seems ripe for the group and especially for Roth. Does anyone else agree?

Forget "Cuddly toy" (as much as I like that song), this album is still great and well worth finding.

Another Funkadelic song I would nominate is "(Not Just) Knee Deep."

I also would nominate Sly & The Family Stone's "Family Affair."
THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. HOLD ON TO YOUR DRAWERS!

Rock? confuse
These are indeed great songs, but I've never considered them to be rock/funk.
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.
