Rage Against the Machine REUNITE for Coachella According to Billboard .com Rage will reunite to headline the Coachella festival this year. Apparently its a one-off gig. TIme to start planning that trip to Cali.
Rage, Bjork, Chili Peppers Sign On For Coachella Rage Against The Machine January 22, 2007, 12:00 AM ET As first tipped here on Friday, a reunited Rage Against The Machine, Bjork and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will lead the lineup for the 2007 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, to be held April 27-29 in Indio, Calif. The event will also feature a reunion gig from Crowded House as well as the Arcade Fire, Sonic Youth, Air, the Roots, Willie Nelson, Interpol, Manu Chao, Ghostface Killah and Fountains Of Wayne. Rage Against The Machine co-headlined the first Coachella with Tool in 1999, while Bjork was a headliner in 2002 and the Chili Peppers served in that role the following year. The full lineup will also sport sets by Jarvis Cocker, the Good, the Bad and the Queen, Hot Chip, El-P, Peeping Tom, the Decemberists, the Happy Mondays, Arctic Monkeys, Tiesto, Kings Of Leon, Travis, Placebo, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Lily Allen, Roky Erickson, Paul Van Dyk, Gotan Project, Kaiser Chiefs, Silversun Pickups, Faithless and LCD Soundsystem. Influential U.K. rock act the Jesus And Mary Chain will be on hand for Coachella, marking its first performance since a messy 1998 split. Rage guitarist Tom Morello will also perform as the Nightwatchman, under which he will release an album April 24 via Epic. In addition, DJ Shadow, Satellite Party, Stephen Marley featuring Jr. Gong, Konono No. 1, Nickel Creek, the Black Keys, the New Pornographers, Rufus Wainwright, the Rapture, !!!, Richie Hawtin, Explosions In The Sky, Junior Boys, Sparklehorse, Soulwax, the Kooks, Felix Da Housecat, Blonde Redhead, Damien Rice, Lupe Fiasco, Jose Gonzales, Brazilian Girls, Regina Spektor, Ozomatli, Peaches, Cornelius, We Are Scientists, Amy Winehouse, the Comedians of Comedy, Spank Rock, Tapes 'n Tapes, the Klaxons, Girl Talk, CSS, the Coup, Against Me, Teddybears, Andrew Bird and Peter, Bjorn and John will play. Sources say the Rage performance, the group's first since 2000, will likely be a one-off. Vocalist Zack de la Rocha has barely been heard from since the band split due to creative differences; fellow members Tom Morello, Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford went on to form Audioslave with ex-Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell. At what will be her first show of 2007, Bjork will likely unveil material from her new studio album, due this spring via Atlantic. As previously reported, it will include contributions from producer Timbaland and vocalist Antony of Antony and the Johnsons. Coachella tickets go on sale Saturday (Jan. 27). A three-day pass will sell for $249; a limited amount of single day tickets will be available for $85. facts edit [Edited 1/23/07 7:48am] A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

I noticed Bjork after I read the whole article.I may have to take in a festival or 2 this year. I'm even psyched about seeing the Jesus and Mary Chain stare at their shoes and play beautiful feedback for a couple of hours. A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

Better on wax. There are some really great acts in the line-up. I'd go just to see Jarvis again of course. Pisses me off though that he's not further up the list. Opening for the Arctic Monkeys? And I've not heard one single song by Interpol. I don't know what they sound like at all. Are they really that huge? I guess so. I just saw The Fratellis two nights ago in fact. They really were great, and I was very surprised at how good they were live. Jon Fratelli really is an amazing guitarist and the whole band is just really talented. The drummer (Mince) came out and they all three played an acoustic set together. I've been a fan of them for a while now, so I was so excited to see them live. And not just because Jon looks like Marc Bolan anymore. And the Kings of Leon rock! "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

The lead singer sounds like Ian Curtis in a way. Lyrically, they're a little sleazy(yay!), and musically, they're kinda new wave/guitar-oriented. Thats what I hear, anyway. "Antics" (their 2nd album) had quite a buzz thanks to quality tunes and non-stop touring. A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

I swear I feel like they've been around forever and I just haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet. . I might have to check them out though. Sounds like I might like them. There's only one RATM and I hope this is the beginning of them getting back together and making more music with a point. I've missed them and their energy.
