Check Amazon they have the cover art even though it's the same as the original version with a gold tint. The tracklist hasn't been finalized yet but there's a rumor that Ask Myself will feature Mary J. Blige and be released as a single... I saw "Ask Myself" on that Mary J. & Friends CD in Target. I was tempted to buy it, but now I'll just wait for Robin's rerelease. Excellent. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

VANITYSprisonBYTCH said: MikeMatronik said: I predict that the record companies will cut down on the employees! (((zipping mouth shut))) ..... Well it is a sad fact, i was in the "business" for a long time and though in was in Music Retail, i dealt with the labels and reps all the time and you can see as the years passed how few reps would come by and drop off promos to the stores and put up displays for their artists, and also tell you about artists who they believed in as music lovers. Because of things like this i always took a major interest in what "music" to push to people so i even started helping out creating displays etc...especially if i liked and believed in the artist they had. But like i said as the years went on you were lucky to see a rep in your store, and then of course we were closed down when the company basically shrunk from its 800+ stores to about 100+ , and it had nothing to do with sales since our location was the number 3 store in sales volume at 5 million. But the truth is the more you eliminate the true "music store" you will basically be eliminating the workforce at labels and im not talking about CEO's im talking about the average worker, CEO's are always safe. As on the past quote about Norah, amazing stuff. Going to this exclusive show in NYC reminded me of the very first time i saw Norah Jones here in NYC at a really small club that held about 75-100 people, she was at that point just signed to Blue Note but still hadnt finished the album, she was in fact opening for JOAN RIVERS! And also Norah was selling her "First Sessions" demo cd that night too at the gig. Believe it or not that is her comfort zone, though many performers find playing to that small a crowd scary, Norah is right at home. And thanks to my getting into Norah back in 2001 i then discovered all her other work pre-signing and got into all of her influences because of her. lastdecember said: Im sure next week will be a slight drop or holding around the same, this week is Mellencamp (which is amazing, but just for the loyals) and i think theres some country group too, which always is dangerous. After that Norah Jones and Katharine Mcphee hit on the 30th and I can see Norah moving at least 100,000 week one and dont sleep on Mcphee either, though she has no video, she is doing every single talk show that week and throughout february, so if that Daughtry guy can move records, she better. After that its grammy time (feb 11th) which is always a time that the labels and performers see rises in their numbers, depending on the winners and who performers, right now the only confirmed performers are , The Chili Peppers,Dixie Chicks,Justin and Beyonce/Shakira doing their new song together, which obviously will kick some live into her album again (beyonce that is). Outside of that the Industry better pray Norah,Mcphee and the grammy rush can hold it up, because there is nothing else on the way.
The Shins have a big buzz going on..i think they will debut at #1 altho i would love to see Mellancamps cd at #1 Check it out ...Shiny Toy Guns R gonna blowup VERY soon and bring melody back to music..you heard it here 1st! http://www.myspacecomment...theone.mp3

The Shins have a big buzz going on..i think they will debut at #1 altho i would love to see Mellancamps cd at #1 I agree I would freakin love Mellencamp to enter at #1 just because it would be nice to finally see an artist i have listened to for over 25 years show people what longevity is. Though im sure its meaningless to him and at the end of the day really doesnt mean much to come in at #1 at this point in his career, but it would be a kick in the ass. Also it would show the morons at the RNR hall of fame who didnt vote this guy in 3 years in a row and let in Percy Sledge instead.
