Don't you just love Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven? Such an emotional piece. You can really hear it comes from the heart. Would you know my name If I saw you in heaven Will it be the same If I saw you in heaven I must be strong, and carry on Cause I know I don't belong Here in heaven Would you hold my hand If I saw you in heaven Would you help me stand If I saw you in heaven I'll find my way, through night and day Cause I know I just can't stay Here in heaven Time can bring you down Time can bend your knee Time can break your heart Have you begging please Begging please (instrumental) Beyond the door There's peace I'm sure. And I know there'll be no more... Tears in heaven Would you know my name If I saw you in heaven Will it be the same If I saw you in heaven I must be strong, and carry on Cause I know I don't belong Here in heaven Cause I know I don't belong Here in heaven A while ago I saw a tv program about Mtv Unplugged. One of the guys working with the show with Clapton talked about a magical moment. I don't remember what exactly the guy said, but he went to the studio where the performance was to take place and when he walked through the doors he saw Eric Clapton sitting all alone in the dark playing Tears in Heaven. When Clapton noticed that he wasn't on his own he stopped playing and looked at the Mtv guy with tears running down his cheeks (Claptons). Now, that's something you'll never forget. Magical. Great song...poignant and moving.
"Change the World" and "My Father's Eyes" are other late Clapton faves. All good things they say never last...

Music is so emotionally tied to human beings. It's why I love most everything because I feel it on this level. It amazes me when people don't get this.
This song is the essence of that regardless of what you think of Clapton.

"Daniel" by Elton John shares this kind of beauty. I'd never name Elton or Eric in a list of favourite artists. But 4 me these 2 songs can't be beat. [Edited 1/25/07 16:47pm]
