In both the US it was Barbra Sterisand "Woman In Love" (Oct 27, 1980). I did this before and never heard of that song. Since then, I've heard it and it's a good song considering it's Barbra and I'm not a fan.

Strangely I never heard that album...the only Barbra album I ever had (downloaded by the way) was Greatest hits...and more! lol

Lulu's "To Sir With Love". That's a very well known song, mostly because of the memorable movie it came from. You should check it out. She was pretty popular in the UK here and there. Covered some Bowie tunes (I think he might have even produced some tracks for her). Also had a dance poppy hit "Independence". I think she is kind of considered a white soul singer. Good voice.

I probably did hear it before at work, which played that kind of AC stuff. Just not one of the songs of my youth.
