Its so funny that if it wasnt for WALT DISNEY RECORDS and its releases, this industry would have collapsed already. Once again, not that i care since the artists i listen too are either, big worldwide, independant or just established that this cant hurt them, im guessing that Diana Ross, with all her promo could have a Top 10 album, and John Mellecamp,America,Katharine Mcphee and Norah Jones all should do well in this climate.

Why would kids buy C.R.A.P., when they can sit by the computers and P2P for it?

By February/March when bigger releases start to come out, the numbers should improve.

No nothing new yet, he should though, based on the 5,000 a week sales he was scoring back on his 2004 and 2005 releases, that total might soon be a Top 10.

lowkey

i think that dreamgirls album is the first to stay at #1 longer than one week since justin timberlake made it 2 weeks. considering all the hype that movie has gotten i woulda thought the numbers would be bigger.

Wait a second....so the numbers are even lower this week? With no notable new releases on the horizon, maybe the music industry is damn near dead!

Those numbers are great! Actually, those motherfuckers don't deserve the small numbers they got. Hopefully, they will be smaller next week.

Are those download sales actually full albums though?

Norah Jones is out on January 30th. Expect HUGE numbers for that one.

Not my cup of tea, but she's a big seller.

Though im a huge fan, i think alot of people are over estimating the numbers she will bring in (my guess is around 250,000), Norah is doing her best to take her music and get it back to the loyal fan base she had before the explosion. I think she is a steady seller which is needed right now, i dont expect her to have a Huge week and then drop of the face of the earth, so in that respect its a positive and this is how labels should be thinking, Also out that day is American Idol runner up Katharine Mcphee, which J/arista Records is putting a lot into since it really does have any big releases planned. Though this girl was a runner up, people have said that she might be the first person to come off idol with the ability to cross markets sort of the way Mariah did.
